About our School
A global school with a human touch
Opened in 1992, our school has grown into one of the biggest and best-known private language centres in the region. We’re part of the International House family and work closely with our sister school, IH Toruń. We share regular events, training days and plenty of good ideas, so there’s always something going on.
We currently teach over 600 students, from very young learners to adults. There’s something for everyone here: general English at every level, Cambridge exam preparation (right up to Proficiency), business English, in-company training, 1-to-1 lessons, conversation classes, playgroups and exam clubs.
We’re proud of the supportive atmosphere in the school. Teachers have two large staff rooms, each well stocked with everything you need, plus your own generous desk and shelf space. The DoS’s office is right next door, and there are laptops available whenever you need one.
Our social programme is always lively. We run popular adult socials (often a pub quiz), as well as events for teens and kids. We also hold a staff Christmas party each year, which is always a relaxed, fun way to unwind together and celebrate the end of the term.
Our facilities make teaching easy and enjoyable. We have 15 classrooms, all equipped with projectors, whiteboards, speakers and high-speed internet. Teachers can also make use of a conference room, a club room for kids’ activities and social events, a small library and even a garden. There is also a large park directly opposite the school, which is a great spot for a quick walk or some fresh air between classes.
There’s also a welcoming kitchen with fresh fruit, a filter coffee machine, kettle, toaster, fridge and microwave. Lots of teachers bring their lunch and eat together, but if you fancy heading out, Focus Mall is right next door with plenty of cafés and a big food court.
